China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd (CDTO) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Datang Corporation Ltd.(CDT). It was incorporated on August 23, 2007 as the main platform for CDT to conduct overseas business. Its main business include investment, construction and operation of overseas energy projects, operation and maintenance, EPC contracting, international trade, technical services and other related businesses.

Headquartered in Beijing, CDTO has 9 departments including General Office（Legal and Risk Control Department, Audit Department), Human Resources Department，Corporate Culture Department, Discipline Inspection Office，Investment and Development Department，Finance Department，Safety Production Department，Engineering Department and Market Development Department. Major subsidiaries include representative offices in Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam，Cambodia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sanya comprehensive business office, Datang Overseas (Beijing) International Trade Co.,Ltd., China Datang Overseas (Hongkong) Investment Co.,Ltd., Datang(Yunnan) United Hydropower Developing Co.,Ltd, Yunnan Southeast-Asia Economy and Technology Investment Industrial Co.,Ltd. and etc. CDTO also holds equity in a couple of companies, including Datang Financial Leasing Company, Datang Shanghai Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. and etc.

At present, the total assets of CDTO amounts to 24 billion yuan with about 500 staff. Our businesses have expanded to Asia, Europe, Africa and other parts of the world. Under China’s Belt and Road initiative, we further enhance cooperation with countries along the Belt and Road. Currently, we own 4 operating projects (2 hydro, 1 coal-fired, 1 power transmission and transformation project) and 2 projects(1 coal-fired, 1 hydro)  under construction. We also press ahead with other greenfiled investment and merge & acquisition projects.
