The project was invested and constructed by China-Bangladesh Electric Power Co., Ltd., and is the flagship project of Belt and Road initiative in Bangladesh. It was witnessed by Premier Li Keqiang and unveiled by President Xi Jinping. It is the largest and highest technical level international O&M bid in recent years. The project is also Bangladesh's first ultra-supercritical large-scale thermal power project. Building on the success of undertaking the O&M project during the commissioning period, CDTO&M successfully won the bid for the 5-year long-term  O&M of the project in May 2019, further expanding the scale of the company's overseas O&M project. During the execution of the project, CDTO&M was highly recognized by the own for its professionalism and experise, which ensures the safe and stable operation of the unit.
