Phnom Penh-Pursat-Battambang 230kV transmission project, the first overseas BOT power transmission project of CDTO, runs from the western suburbs of Phnom Penh City to Battambang City, and crosses Phnom Penh City and four provinces, including Kandal Province, Kampong Chhnang Province, Pursat Province and Battambang Province, which traverses the central and western parts of Cambodia. It includes three 230kV substations in Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, and Battambang, and a 294km-long 230kV double-circuit transmission line on the same tower. The project started construction on November 10, 2009 and entered commercial operation on February 15, 2013.

As Cambodia's first national power grid project, the power grid project has played a huge role in promoting the economic and social development of Cambodia's central and western regions including the capital Phnom Penh and Cambodia's main food production areas, and has brought light to the local people. Since the project was put into production, operation has been stable and social and economic benefits have been significant. It has become a model of successful cooperation between China and Cambodia in the field of electric energy.
