In 2017, CDTO won the bid for Meulaboh 2×225MW coal-fired power generation project. The project is located near Meulaboh city, Aceh province, Sumatra, Indonesia. It is an IPP project tendered by PLN. The plan is to build two 225MW subcritical coal-fired generating units in BOOT mode. The commercial operation period is 25 years. In addition, a 275kV substation and transmission lines will be built, which will be handed over to PLN for operation. At present, the construction work is in full swing. Once put into operation, it will alleviate the power shortage in Aceh Province, support the power usage in West Jawa area and provide many local job opportunities.
