Facing the severe COVID-19 pandemic, CDTO responded quickly and made scientific arrangements, strictly abided by the local laws and regulations and epidemic prevention and control regulations of the host country, and organized its overseas institutions to formulate epidemic prevention guidelines and emergency response plan in accordance with the principle of precise policy implementation of "one country, one policy". According to the plan, CDTO and its affiliates actively carried out emergency drills, refined production, infrastructure and life on-site prevention and control measures, bought overseas work insurance and SOS membership services for all overseas employees, purchased nearly 90,000 sets of epidemic prevention materials from China to assist overseas institutions, and a great  majorityof its overseas employees have been vaccinated against COVID-19, either through rotation back in China or through local health organizations. As a result, CDTO has so far maintained "double zeros" among its headquarter and all affiliates, namely zero confirmed case and zero suspected case. What is more, Meulaboh project, Stung Atay HPP and Dapein I HPP have received special inspections for epidemic prevention and control by the SASAC and have been highly praised by SASAC, which gave the thumbs-up four times to the epidemic prevention work of Meulaboh and selected it as a model unit to promote epidemic prevention experience to other central enterprises stationed abroad.

While doing a good job in its own epidemic prevention and control work, CDTO also actively fulfills its social responsibilities by donating anti-epidemic materials such as masks and hand sanitizers to relevant departments in the host country, effectively filling the gap in the global supply chain, and demonstrating its integration with partners from all over the world. 

In Indonesia, Datang Meulaboh Power Generation Co., Ltd. has been paying close attention to the trend of the epidemic in Indonesia, actively responding to the call of the Indonesian government to provide assistance within its capacity for the epidemic prevention work in the Aceh Special Zone, and donated 50,000 disposable masks to the Aceh Provincial Government and its governor highly appreciated China Datang’s dedication to fulfilling its social responsibilities in Indonesia.
