In Myanmar, while provoding a continuous supply of electricity to China, Dapein I Hydropower Station provides stable and reliable electricity to the Bhamo region of Myanmar at the same time. It solves power shortage in the Bhamo region of Myanmar, enabling the local people to use household appliances and industry and agriculture production to be developed. At the beginning of 2020, Dapein I Hydropower Station received a letter of gratitude from Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Kachin State, Myanmar, which expresses gratitude to the power station for providing safe, high-quality, and reliable electric energy for the Bhamo region of Myanmar over the years, as well as for its important contributions to the local social and economic development and the improvement of people's living standards.

In Cambodia, Stung Atay Hydro-electric Project and Phnom Penh-Battambang Transmission System Project have not only brought light to the local people, but also brought opportunities for local economic development. Stung Atay Hydropower Station is located in the undeveloped mountainous area of the original tropical rain forest in the western part of the country. After the completion of the power station project, it has greatly alleviated the shortage of power supply in central and western parts of Cambodia, cut down on the power generation cost, promoted the rapid development of Cambodia’s economy, and increased the living standard of the local people. 

Stung Atay Hydro-electric Project

As Cambodia's first national power grid project, the construction of Phnom Penh-Battambang Transmission System Project  has played a huge role in promoting the economic and social development of Cambodia's central and western regions, including the capital Phnom Penh and Cambodia's main food production areas. The two projects have become successful symbols of China-Cambodia energy infrastructure cooperation.

While attending the project completion ceremony on March 27, 2014, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen spoke highly of China Datang's projects. He stated that China Datang invested in the construction of power grids and power stations in Cambodia, which not only created job opportunities for the people, but also played an important role in promoting the development of Cambodia's industry, agriculture, and service industries. He said at the ceremony that China Datang"built both cars and roads for Cambodia”. "Car" refers to Stung Atay Hydro-electric Project, and "Road" refers to Phnom Penh-Battambang Transmission System Project.
